About Dr Cheney
Lisa McDonald Cheney, Psy.D., a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, established her Louisville, Kentucky private practice in 2009 to provide quality mental health services for children, adolescents, adults and families.
Dr. Cheney, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, obtained a BA in psychology at the University of Alabama. She completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky and her pre-doctoral internship at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children, Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Cheney’s graduate training program and her pre-doctoral internship were both accredited by the American Psychological Association. Dr. Cheney completed her postdoctoral training at a private practice in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Her clinical training has focused on serving the needs of children, adolescents, and adults with a broad spectrum of emotional and behavioral problems. Dr. Cheney has worked in a wide variety of settings including schools, community mental health centers, psychiatric and residential treatment centers, and private practice.
Dr. Cheney maintains a license to practice psychology in the state of Kentucky. Her professional memberships include the Kentucky Psychological Association and American Psychological Association. She serves as a member for Kentucky Psychological Association’s committee for continuing education. When not practicing, Dr. Cheney enjoys watching movies, walking her rambunctious Boston terrier, and traveling with her family.
